So the proper method/sealent per your advice is a product that needs attention and re application ever 6mo...not the product that is permanent. Do I have that correct?.
You really should enlighten yourself on lap sealant products being used today. We used latex caulking before the new gen sealants came out. It was good for about a year before it became brittle.
There is no modern/recommended lap sealant that needs to be reapplied every 6 months.
Also Eternabond is not a permanent fix either. It is a good product when applied as recommended but needs to be checked periodically.
