I must be another one of the "lucky" ones. Bought 2 new TTs in the past 15 years and never have taken either one back to the dealer for anything.
Sure some things have "broken" , a pipe connector worked loose and leaked, a wire worked loose, a piece of trim worked loose and fell off the wall, the main door needed adjusting. I would not consider any of these as "show stoppers" or "poor quality" - my rigs bounces down the road for 35 days per year - stuff working loose is expected.
I came from the telephone industry in the '80s, in those days it was all about quality - irrespective of price (for the most part) - remember the days when dropped calls was unheard of or when getting a dial tone 100% of the time "was the norm"?
That all changed in the '90 when customers demanded lower cost and price drove behaviour - quality started to suffer because the consumer demanded lower prices - there IS a reason why Walmart is the biggest retailer - their customers demand lower prices (quality has taken a back seat in all (?) aspects of our buying habits).
Nothing is different in the RV industry - WE, the consumer are driving that - ask yourself - "Would have bought the SAME TT you have today for 50% more to get better quality ?" probably not. So at the end of the day it's a balance - improving quality drives up the cost.
I'll use a telephone example: In 1986 by long distance bill was $150/month, today it's essentially free, is the service and quality the same - NO WAY.
