Sure, you can stay connected on an overnight stay. I have done it myself maybe a dozen times, or so.
However I need a good reason to NOT disconnect, because I usually go out to dinner on a traveling day, or I re-fuel for the next day, or I just want to look around, or maybe I make sure I know how to get back to the Interstate. There are lots of good reasons to disconnect, but only a few to NOT disconnect.
Like wanting to get a really early start (I have actually left in the dark once or twice). Being camped in a flood area (done that too). Parked in a Flying J ( Too noisy).
But sure, you don't need to disconnect. I prefer to.
