dish HD

I have a portable direct tv satellite (no HD) that i use now that works great, but i want to switch to Dish for the HD, will I be able to still use the coaxial connection on the outside of my rv that runs to my tv cavity in the living room which i would then connect to the dish wally receiver. Basically will the existing coaxial that runs from the outside connector to the inside still work for me?
Thank you all for your time

Yes you can use the same connection but you will have to make sure that there are no splitters in the line and all the connections are tight. Unlike some of Direct portables the Dish ones use the coax to power the dish.

We just switched from a Tailgater to the Pathway X2 and it's a amazing how well it works compared to the Tailgater, it's little more money but worth it.

I use an HD dish network dish on a tripod and go thru the "sat" connection on the outside of my trailer. As long as it is a direct feed without splitters it should work. Splitters have to be after the connection to the receiver. I'm not familiar with the Wally as I use a dual tuner that allows me to watch different shows in the bedroom and living area.
Well, not always correct. We use a 3 LNB sat dish feeding 1 coax to the receiver. At the receiver the single coax feeds a splitter which feeds both tuners on the 622 receiver. Works like a champ giving us access to all 3 dish sats on each tuner independantly.

  • how come you can't get HD by just using the correct dish for the DTV? I use the Slimline 3 dish with the SWM LNB and a single cable to the camper.

    Mine works.

So if you just gotta switch the master blaster answered your question.
  • Yes it will work. If it worked for Direct TV will work for dish and as long as you have the right antenna and receiver. I have been using dish for many years no issues.
  • be careful of the dish receivers. I have dish in my house and it is about as good as a WWll handheld radio. I have a two year contract and I dread fighting this thing for that long. I call and complain and all they want me to knois unplug for 30 sec's. very bad receivers
  • Coax might work. No splitters, and RG6 coax. If its the older RG59 then nope. Of course nothing else is interchangable.
