The nylon retaining strap for my pocket door ripped from screw, which holds it in place. This allowed my pocket door to swing freely in transit and break loose one of the two lower guides for the door. I tried to re-attach the guide to the wall using small expanding plastic screw anchors, but it pulled out again. Any thoughts on how to re-attach the lower guide...it looks like this.
Really depends on where in the door the pullout is located....
If the mount point is solid, not hollow use tooth picks and glue. Fill, then trim flush and pre-drill/install hardware.
Hollow a little more complicated..
Inject epoxy to form a block. Is it near the top or bottom of the door? I have injected "wood restoriation" epoxy in hollow voids before to build a firm base for reattachment. Use something like Git-Rot and plan to spend many short sessions building a block by injecting small amounts of epoxy then waiting for it to harden.
If on end (bottom/top) of door -maybe able to drill/chisel out a section from edge and install a block than fits in the hollow area (glue and clamps), then a little refinishing.
