OK, loaded up for Glamis on Friday. Four quads, full water and fuel...decided to stop by the CAT Scales for a quick weigh in. Here is what I found: Trailer weighed 12,560. The pin was 2,200 of that. A little over the 11,900 GVWR (Claimed 8100 dry). Here is how it shook out for a truck full of gas, coolers in the bed, no passengers:
Front axle: 4040
Rear axle: 3400
Total: 7440
Attach the trailer:
Front axle: 4240
Rear axle: 5400
Trailer axle: 10360
Total: 20000
Here are the door jamb ratings for the truck:
GVWR: 9200
GAWR FT: 4670
GAWR RR: 6084
Bottom line is that once you throw a moderate load, along with water and fuel on board, you need a serious diet to stay under the 11,900 GVWR...and the 9,200 for my truck.
