I got to thinking about how the TV was wired and so after a little research found that by simply rewiring the audio wires I could have souround sound for the TV and the DVD player. There are 3 Av wires that run from the stereo/ DVD player to the TV. The factory had all 3 wired as outputs from the stereo to the tv. When watching a DVD the sound comes from the overhead speakers so the (audio) red and white wires are not needed to use the DVD player. To play the TV through the stereo I simply moved the audio wires on the tv to an audio out position. Then I popped the 2 end caps off the stereo, pulled it out and moved the audio wires from the "audio out" and moved them to the " audio in rear" plugs. Now I can play DVD and the TV through the stereo. I'm not sure why it wasn't wired that way at the facctory but it took me about 5 minutes to change it. Makes the tv sound so much better.
