The bobbed triangle type center hanger is not special. Found on a lot of lippert/zieman built RV frames that have the adjustable spring location (2 holes). Suprised yours is not reinforced -are the end hangers reinforced -both sides of the U tied togeather with a plate welded between? I will try to get a picture tonight of mine.
Thank you for the info.
Mine is not reinforced, just a big "U" shaped triangle.
Someone else had suggested welding a plate across the legs of the "U".
Any thoughts on the springs being way under-rated when compared to the axle ?

Yes, many.
Goes back to this trailer model having a pretty low Factory GVWR. Some component in the trailer assembly, spring, wheel, tire, frame, floor structure and or other unknown factor is causing Eclipse RV to limit the GVWR on that model as manufactured.
Seems kinda crazy to have such a light weight spring (2200lbs).
If a person had it at max load of 11,900lbs and had a 20% pin hitch weight of 2380lbs that would leave you with 9520lbs of weight on 8800lbs rated springs.
I am no genius but that doesn't add up or make sense for either Lippert or Eclipse, whoever decides what springs go on this thing.
