I also want to post another question about inverter/converters and batteries. Was the inverter an option? I don't think I have one. My rig does charge the batteries when plugged in, so there is some sort of converter, but I do not have the ability to run anything 110v when not plugged in. Is it hard to install one? What is the difference between and inverter and converter?
Has anyone switched over to 6v golf cart or tractor batteries? Is it worth doing? My 12v batteries are about toast after leaving my main power switch on while in storage. They will charge, but not hold a very good one for very long. I hear the 6v batteries are much more resilient and give far more amp-hours usage per charge.
Further related... has anyone installed solar panels? If so, how did you wire them in? Where did you run the wires? Has anyone seen the 45 watt set from Harbor Freight? I've read mediocre mixed reviews on them. I thought about trying with them first. The review I've read said they are a good, relatively inexpensive starter set to learn on.
One last electrical question....has anyone installed fan vents in place of vents that have no fan yet. I took my shroud off an unpowered vent and could not find any access to even think of running wires to. I've thought about installing either a vent fan or even a 3rd A/C unit in my garage, but have no idea where to pull power from. With fan, I believe I talked to a guy at the factory that said I could run fish tape over to a light fixture, pull wires, and tap into that power as the fan does not draw much.
Thanks, guys! I hope y'all can help!
