I've always had an on and off stink in my trailer but have made excuses, believing that water splashed out of the traps, or something like that. The smell always seemed worse right after dumping so I thought it was somewhat normal. I finally quit making excuses and started looking. It took 5 seconds to spot a problem. Under the bathroom sink, there is a vertical pipe with a check valve after the sink trap. Under the kitchen sink there is the same vertical pipe after the trap, but no valve. If the valve somehow fell off, it would be laying under the back of the sink, but it isn't. It was never installed. A quick trip to Home Depot found a similar valve. I can't even imagine how fresh the trailer will smell without the gray tank venting to the inside of the trailer. Moral of the story is go with your gut and don't make excuses for three years.
