I'm not familiar with your generator, but I'm guessing it does not have a 30 amp RV outlet? We bought an inexpensive 3500/4000 Champion generator years ago and it runs our A/C without issue (although we've only needed it a couple of times for that), as the entire output can be drawn from that one 30 amp outlet.
Still runs great, we don't dry camp much, but have used it at home many times. I don't know if you can return your unit, but if you're still looking for a "cheap" alternative before you invest in a 2-unit solution, you may want to look at these.
