No adjustment on that model. I have had the same Reese 20K model since 1996 and it is still tight w/ no clunking. (It is on it's third truck). I keep the jaws and mechanism lubed and take it apart every 4-5 years for cleaning and inspection.(maintenance background). Never had an issue-hope that doesn't jinx me! :E
