Just because I like hearing everyone toting there duallies.......I must say, The F-350 axle/differential on my SRW is the same as on the Ford F350 DRW. The leaf springs are the same. Here lies the difference......Budd Rims and the hubs that the Budd rims attach to. The F-350 dually also, has 4 tires rated at 3400lbs/tire, you do the math.
Like my SRW truck, the DRW Ford truck tires can handle far more weight than what the leaf springs or axle are rated for.
I will add that I own an F-550 Ford with 19.5 tires and has a GVWR 19,500. If I had 17.5 tires on it than the GVWR would be 17,500. Again, tires make a difference.
If, I ever get pulled over and get a citation for being overloaded with my camper trailer hitched to my SRW F-350. I will then consider hitching my F-550 to my camper.
