We have a pin heavy 15,500# trailer. Payload on the truck after everything is loaded is close to 5K.
You will dump a ton of money into the truck to get it to safely haul that kind of load. I'm happy to discuss those options with you, but it's probably best just to go with DRW to begin with unless you have a compelling reason to have a SRW. We were able to get it almost as stable after about $4k invested, but unloaded it would knock your kidneys out and was unacceptable for DW.
We have probably $12k in suspension and tires alone to make it handle as well as a DRW does. That doesn't include the other things we added like an air hitch to make it more comfortable.
