Dump Station Problem....

So they Carbon 33 worked good, went to leave and use dump station as the first time used without full hookups. Valves were pushed in for closed and all the way. Went to unhook my trailer pipe cap and water (smelled gray) was spraying out, lots of pressure. Drained a bit on the ground by dump and it showed no sign of letting up. Pulled the grey valve as I was thinking maybe i had them backward and heard it open and flow, so I shut it quick.

After a while I just pulled off the cap and slapped on the hose as fast as I could, water flowed out it the entire time. Once attached, I dumped black and heard and verified it went, then dumped gray and it flowed and went....

I believe I only have one gray tank....any ideas why the full pipe and pressure with valves closed? Like I said, both tanks emptied when valves pulled...my only thoughts gray water not closed all the way or valve failure allowing some flow?

Thanks,

  • When I bought my TT I was told I had a 45 gal grey tank. All of the specs on the dealers and companies web site say 45 gal grey tank. Specs on the brochure and papers I received show 45 gal grey tank. But -- I actually have 2 grey tanks - a 20 gal for the kitchen, and 25 gal for the shower/sink in the bathroom. Personally, I wish it was one big tank, but from what I understand there is a different tank for the galley because some campsites will not allow dumping the kitchen grey tank due to the food particles / scraps and impact on both the environment and local fauna.
  • Yep, 60 gallon grey tank. I believe I only have one tank because that is what they told me in the brief overview...but I cant say I crawled around to verify...I saw the valve for my fresh tank dump, and there was one other narrow pipe coming over toward where the shower and toilet tank would have been but a line was forming behind me so I didnt investigate too long.

For my first "real" trip I was completely impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone there was. Neighbor on one side of me gave me a few supplies, showed some spots on a map and told me to keep it, guys helping to troubleshoot the dump, etc...

For the life of me I thought the tiny playground with like 3 things would bore the kids in 15 minutes...nope..kept going back to it again and again.

Thanks for all the info, I parked it in storage but will take a look. First time i had full hook ups so I am guessing if it is another valve that it was in fact open the entire time?
  • I'll bet you have another gray tank. Probably one for the black, and two for the gray. On previous Keystone rigs I've owned, one of the valves was in a completely different location. Take a good look underneath for another valve.
  • Capacity 60 gallons??2tanks.1 for kitchen sink and one for bath room grey water.Check specs.??
