Easter outing

Loaded up the TH and went to Emma wood beach for the day. This is Emma wood just outside of Emma wood State Beach. Its very popular for day trips since its located right along Hwy 1 in Ventura about 2 miles south of Rincon Beach park. Did a lil bit of surfing fishing looking for surf perch but no perch today. The weather was great morning overcast which eventually cleared up around noon then around 6ish got a bit colder and the wind picked up a bit. By this time we were all lazy from eating short ribs glazed with polynesian orange teriyaki, bbq chicken, pasta salad and baked beans and all the desert my wife and kids made. We put on a movie for the next couple hours and ended the day super full and feeling lazy. Glad the drive home is only 20 mins :) Another great day and fun times in the TH. Hope everyone had a great easter weekend.

  • Look like you guys had lots of fun! Love the Easter decoration on the TT.

Yeah we had a great time. The kids always love to decorate the TH. I see in you Sig your daughters are 9 and 11 same age as my girls.

Great report on a great day! Perfect spot too.

Thanks. We really enjoy this location, so close to home and easy beach access and parking.
  • Great photos. We were just down the road at the Ventura RV park above the fairgrounds. I'm surprised to see you had good sandy beaches. The beaches just south of there were completely destroyed. The sand is gone and it's all just rock.

Looks like you had a great day.
  • Nice, when we camp at Emma Wood we ride our bikes over there and get some soft serve ice cream cones. Most of the beach was all wet sand and the tide line usually comes up to the rocks. Over at the wall is where the sand normally is but this time the water was all the way up against it. We showed up early so i was watching the water and picked that spot. Small patches of sand scatterd up and down, the conditions really changed a lot.
