electrical / lights

I recently purchased a 2004 komfort 5th wheel trailer. the lights only work when I'm connected to 110. When i disconnect from 110, the lights won't work off the battery.
Any ideas?

  • You folks were right. I replaced the battery disconnect switch and everything works.
    Thanks
  • Are they 12v. lights? Does anything else that runs on 12v. work? Sounds like either the battery is dead, missing or not wired up to the system correctly.
  • Look in compartment where battery is.....follow positive cable to the next item in line....a switch. It should be in ON position.

No switch.......then check the battery voltage. If voltage is low then recharge/get it load tested/get a new battery.
THEN you need to check converter output....it should keep battery charged.

Hopefully you find a switch OFF and your battery is OK

    Hi decal215,

No it separates the house batteries from the power distribution center. It must be on to allow the battery bank to supply power to the trailer.

....and if that doesnt work you have a bad circuit breaker.

a battery disconnect switch. separates the trailer batteries from the truck?
  • Could be that your battery is shot. With a 2004 this is no surprise.

  • Hi,

Is there a battery disconnect switch?

    Are the batteries charging?
