Update. Today the power went off again and I went straight to the campers panel box. I took the cover off and tested the wires going to the main breaker and nothing, wiggled everything and power never flashed on or anything. Went to the plug on the outside of the camper and tested the power cord and had power there but noticed that one of the holes on the end of the power cord had melted a little. My guess is it happened the last time the power went off because I remember the power bumping on then right back off 3 times over 20 mins until it finally stayed on, but I really don't know. Anybody have any guesses? I would think a loose connection arcing could cause this but the connection between the power cord and plug on the side of the camper feels tight.
The power did come back on about 10 mins or so after coming back inside but I'm a little worried after seeing the burnt end of the plug
You probably have dirty and/or bent contacts. Anytime you have poor contacts, the increased contact resistance results in too much heat. The heat distorts the plug. In many cases, the plug melts enough to become inoperative. Yours may be close to total failure, heats up, then looses connection, cools down and works again. A tight plug, may just mean that part of the plug is still tight while one of the power legs is intermittently loose. Time to replace it before you loose power forever and/or start a fire. In the future, make sure all contacts are clean and tight.
