You might try "baking" it. Turn up the heat and close it up for a day. Then open everything wide open and let it air. It helps to get that smell out faster than waiting for it to just wear off. They do that in new buildings. There is also charcoal stuff that you get at a pharmacy that will work better than briquets, but briquets beat nothing.
