Three years ago when I started to research what brands to look for I narrowed it to the two Kansas brands. It took me 6 months of looking before I found the Excel I bought. A 97 28 ft. Owned by a widow and was well taken cared of as they used it a a local lake. Paid 6500 in cash. In two years of TX in winter and Wy in summer this RV has been solid. If you are looking for one don't be afraid of a used one. I would never buy any vehicle new. I asked my mobile repair guy what percentage his repairs were appliance related and he said80%. I am so sorry to see that this is going with Excel. Smith Center is a great little town. And they do make everything from the ground up. Frames, upholstery and fantastic oak woodwork. I replaced all shocks and breaks and the only other repairs were to the front jacks. Have a friend here that traded in his for a new Montana and went back two weeks later to negate the deal and retrieve his old one and it was already sold.
