EZ lube hubs

I have read the post regarding hand packing the bearing versus using a grease gun to insert grease. That's NOT what my question involves. I visited my local auto parts store and with their recommendation, purchased two tubes of NLGI No 2 Mystic Hi Temp Multi-Purpose grease. Is this a good product to use on my trailer?
  • Word of advice that came from a tech at our dealer. Make sure wheel is raise off the ground, spin and pump 3-4 shots of grease in while it's still spinning.
  • Thanks everyone. Your input was very helpful. Time to lube.

That's a good grease... I like to use the John Deere NLGI #2 grease since we buy a lot of it.
  • Did you tell auto part store what grease you have in there now?

Good product if old grease is compatible with your new.

Here is spec's on what you bought. IMO nothing super about it, but not snake oil either. Once again...Will absolutely do the job IF old grease is compatible with new. ON line there is a grease compatibly chart somewhere.

  • Mystic JT 6 Hi Temp #2 is one of the greases recommended on the Dexter web site and is what I use. But if you are going to use the EZ Lube system you will need at least one more tube.

  • You can get NLGI 2 in lithium complex, calcium sulfonate complex, molysomething, and probably others. Dexter specs call for lithium complex.

Mystic Hi Temp is a very good grease for wheel bearings and chassis fittings. Mystic has been around a long time and I have used their products without issues.
  • My Jayco came with the Dexter EZ lube bearing system. Dexter recommends NLGI No 2 grease for their axles. The grease that you have, will work, as it's the correct grade. The brand is up to you. I run Valvoline Crimson Red lithium grease, NLGI No 2, rated for heavy duty fleet applications. Is it any better? It works for me. Good luck.
