Shopping for new tow vehicle. Bought a bigger 5th wheel ( 2013 Redwood 38BR ). The current Ram 2500 diesel srw will get it there but is pretty maxed out.
The ratings of the dually 350/3500's certainly meet the requirements on paper. Like what I'm reading about the turning radius, breaking and heavier curb weight of Ford's F450 without getting in to a cab and chassis truck.
Anyone have first hand experience/comparison with Ford's F450 compared to a F350 or Ram 3500?
Thanks much
I owned a 2005 F-350 with the 6.0 Liter Diesel. It was a very nice truck and did the job well. When I decided to upgrade to a 43' Toy Hauler, I knew I needed to upgrade the truck as well. So it 2011 I bought an F-450 which was well suited to towing our new 18K pound 5th wheel toy hauler. Drove the wheels off the 2011 and renewed the truck last year. Now driving a 2017 F-450 that pulls our 5er better than the 2011 did.
The new 450s can tow almost anything that is built today. Good luck!
