My husband and I are still searching for our first FW. With all the floor plan choices available, I would love to hear from all of you regarding your favorite FW floor plan and why it works for you. Please include the FW model you have.Thank you kindly.

We love this layout, We pick ours up on thursday

We bought one with swivel reclining seats in the back. It will be nice to turn them around and look out the big rear window.We also like one that you cannot see the toilet bowl from the living areas when the bathroom door is open.

We have two DD's, so this 5'er works well for us. I would really like to have an island in the kitchen for a little more working room, so may have to make one to go in there. And we are replacing our couch with two recliners since the girls fight over who is taking up more room.

Our present unit has dining (major) windows on passenger side so we only see our site not the neighbors. I also recommend being able to use the bed and bathroom with slides closed. If you find one you really like be sure to close the slides and see what you can use and what you can't while closed. We also like a totally enclosed shower/toilet arrangement. Each is a personal choice.

DH and I were looking at new Fifthwheels and we're actually kinda disappointed in the new floorplans at our size (34-36 ft) in the mid-grade and higher units. Seems like they're all the same layout, mid kitchen with an island, just swapping the entertainment center from the back wall to the rear side wall. And the storage isn't as good as in our 2007 rig.We have a Hitchhiker II LS 32.5 LKSBG (unfortunately no longer built) which we love. I rebuilt the TV cabinet to install a flatscreen in a new cabinet door with our printer in the space behind it where the tube TV used to sit, and installed a wine rack with shutter doors under the desk.I like it for the separation between kitchen/dining and livingroom, the storage, and the W/D closet up front that holds our cat litter box. The split bath means the bedroom has more light and space, and you can walk around the bed on 3 sides, which was a must-have for me.

For us, two recliners is a must. Have to be able to use the fridge and bathroom with the slides in. I much prefer the rear living floor plans and our wide open shower, sink and dressing area in the bedroom. Toilet is in it's own little room with linen closet. For me, the toilet should be the only thing in the RV divided by a wall. We can raise our heads in the morning and look down the entire length of the 5th wheel, out the rear picture windows and across the bay or out into the woods. plenty of storage is a must too as well as decent tires and wheels for the load or at least the ability to upgrade to some 16" ST's or LT's. Other than that I'm easy to please! :B

Looking to fulltime next year, this type of floor plan is looking very attractive to us. Only thing to change is the half bath to a butler's pantry.

Here ya go.. Island kitchen, TV across from seating, large shower, large pantry, large entrance door, tall slides, King size bed, I could go on and on..

We are occasional Wally campers & don't really recall seeing anyone overnighting with slides in. Using up a line of parking bays is using up a line of parking bays.

During an in transit day stop for lunch getting to the fridge without extending slides is nice & having the toilet accessible with slides in is a necessity. But really & truly, how often do we want TV, the sofa, even a table when we are only stopped for a short time?

Fixation???? Wow....That's the reason we're all different...You may not like something some like and some may not like what you like...human nature. You may not do some things the way's others do, but that doesn't make it wrong...In our case, being able to stop and get to the stove, refrigerator, go to the bathroom, take a nap is nice...Didn't know anything was wrong with that:h..Never stayed at a Wally World, never plan to either....

Not trying to argue the point...Opinions were asked and given...We have stayed over night at a stop between where we wanted to end up...basically, spending the night and leaving "at the crack of dawn"...camper can be left hooked up and we can go into the 5er and go anywhere we want, even watch TV and relax....Just another suggestion that may work for some.

Necessity??? ....nor really.....nice to have? We thing so... Don't recollect anyone being "fixated" on the suggestion or even stating it was a "necessity", but, as you can see by all those that have recommended it on this thread and others, most like that capability of their 5er.

we did the Keystone Alpine 3720FB

we have pets, wanted a place for the catbox, easy access when we stop somewhere. (bought a second 1/2 bath door for a pet access door) and DW wanted room for Washer/Dryer that didn't eat up the front closet.

We liked the Montana 3910FB originally. but we had to lose 1/2 the front closet for the washer/dryer. See they have changed that in the 2015 model.

Hello fellow RVers and thank you for the wonderful responses. I am happy to announce we signed papers on a 2015 Heartland Sundance XLT, model 278TS and will pick it up on Tuesday. We are thrilled and already planning our first trip. Thanks again for the wonderful input.
