Favorite floorplans for FW

I don't think having access to the TV and sofa was a part of the question. However, being able to get access to the bathroom and kitchen is a major plus.

Trying to understand the fixation by so many that the RV has to be fully functional with slides in?

We are occasional Wally campers & don't really recall seeing anyone overnighting with slides in. Using up a line of parking bays is using up a line of parking bays.

During an in transit day stop for lunch getting to the fridge without extending slides is nice & having the toilet accessible with slides in is a necessity. But really & truly, how often do we want TV, the sofa, even a table when we are only stopped for a short time?

Well I have owned 5 5th wheels. The least desirable for us is the rear kitchen which Montana made several years ago 3000RK. You could not get to the Refrigerator while traveling without putting the slide outs out. We just got a new 2015 Montana 3611RL Legacy that has the Couch across the rear and Theater Seating in the awning side of the slideout. We like this because you do not have to move and lift recliners to strap them down for traveling. We also like a separate bathroom with a hallway. This works well for our family of 3.

As stated, it's really very nice, when all slides are in, that one can easily access the refrigerator, stove, watch Television in the living room, take a shower, use the bathroom or go to bed. Our's is a 4 slide and with all slides in, you can still access all the above..We had an island in a 5er before and loved it, BUT, with all slides in, it was hard to get to the fridge, couldn't get to living room, so next time we purchased a 5er we looked for one that, with all slides in, was still "user friendly":)

It needs to be short, it needs to have a booth table with storage under it, it needs to have access to all parts with slide(s) in and no rear bathroom.

This is my favorite because I bought it today! Has the rear living, big beautiful windows and a great kitchen. I bought it used, but it is like new!
I'd suggest looking in craigslist and view as many as possible!

You're not specific in what you want, so I'll just add something to think about.

Our small 5er (Trail Cruiser TC524DS) has the bathroom between the front bedroom, and the "great room". This allows us to have two couples traveling together with the bathroom in between so everyone can discretely get to the toilet at night.

Just something to think about!!

8 seasons, over 1200 nights, over 100,000 miles with the same floorplan & have not seen another, in this length trailer, that we like better.

The downfall of so many is the tiny amount of galley workspace or TV that has to be viewed at right angles or cannot be viewed by whoever is in the galley.

Having an island galley is nice but for us the "L" or "J" galley is even better. Using the bed with slide in is not an issue. We put slides out no matter where we are. Having access to the fridge with the slide in is nice for midday lunch on the road.





For the sharp eyed, yes, the second trailer is a different one. Same floorplan though. The TV is in the slide mounted at a 45degree angle so that it is visible everywhere.

Our previous had the sink in the island. DW much prefers it better here. Floorplans are very similar for both except our current one has regular doors on bathroom hall and bedroom, not folding ones.

Well this is personal choice, but you asked for opinions.
