I spent 4 hours doing my inspection before driving off the lot...much to the dismay of the techs who were trying to get me out of the way so they could do the next delivery scheduled 2 only hours after mine.
Do a good look over. Tha goes without saying. If it looks wrong, it probably is.
The things I found were 1 missin screw in exterior trim. One of the rain gutter spouts was missing, a couple of the cabinet drawers friction locks weren't adjusted (the drawer wouldn't stay shut securely). That is an easy adjustment with a screwdriver.
The stovetop cover had a dent in it.
That is all I found.
Inspect all caulking, inside and out. The first trip, there was a small leak at the base of the shower glass where they had caulked it, but wiped too much away and there was a pinhole sized leak when showering (I fixed it myself with a spot of tub/tile caulk).
Check that the slides seal when open AND closed. Mine were all straight and seal just as tight at the bottom as they do at the top. I've seen some that squish the seal much tighter at the top than at the bottom. I'm sure it's OK as it keeps the rain out, but it looks funny when the slide is in.
Make sure everything works!
Make them show you how to use the thermostat, each TV (and that you get a remote for every TV and they work) and the stereo(s). Take a 110V outlet tester and make sure each outlet is wire properly and that everything works, both plugged in, and when running the generator.
If you get the leveling system, make sure they show you how to work it.
They need to show you the safety switch on the water heater, and all the low point drains.
These things are huge trailers, and have an awful lot of features, so even moving quickly, just operating everything will take a couple of hours. Then spend a couple hours inspecting for scratches, dents, caulking, etc.
I'm sure you'll love it!
