I am personally not going to buy every product for sale out there for all the what ifs.
My wife and I work together on set up and tear down and double check each other. I put blocks under the front landing gear while she raises the front to where the hitch handle can be released then she stands there while I unlock handle open it and drive out. Then she levels the RV.
I would guess you do this with all aspects of hitching, and unhitching now, after driving off with water ,and power cord still connected, ya good advice ,but always after the fact . Same holds true for those fool proof hitches, until they are not fool proof any longer, then that bedsaver looks like a pretty good bargain.
Geez you just had to bring THAT up!
I try to learn from my mistakes. That is why we tell people to leave us alone until we are done.
I brought it up because we are all capable of these things, and you are no different .My point is there are a lot of things we learn from our mistakes, and hopefully for you, you won't continue to learn the hard way on other things, like no pull tests, or safety devices. But each to his own.
I agree things can happen in all walks of life I look at my hitch, it is a step just like doing a pull test. You can forget a pull test just like you can forget to look at the hitch no different.
Just do your best and flush the rest!
