Fifth hitch issue

I installed my hitch myself, It was square. problem is my quick remove pins don't want to come out of the rails. what did I do wrong? I put the metal lugs in between the hat channels of the bed to keep the ribs from crushing. Do you think I cinched the bolts down a little to tight? They will come out but I might have to force them and I know that is not right. They went in just fine as I put the hitch base in place before I torqued down the bolts to ensure I had it square. Anyone else have this issue?
  • If you tightened the rail bolts the first time without the hitch in the rails, the rails can move a bit when you tighten them. Loosen the rail bolts, put the hitch in and the pins. Tap the rails around the get the best pin/hitch fit in the rails. Tighten the rail bolts( to mfg specs) with the hitch in the rails.

  • Sounds good, no rattle or loose hitch. Mine come out easy so I have a little movement.
  • I have to tap my pins out each and every time which is fine by me.

Rather have them snug then loose.......hitch sits tight and no movement.
  • They have a small amount of adjustment on mine.
