We've never had a chucking problem with any of the 5ers we've had, but our latest one(Montana) had the MorRyde pin box on it from the factory and I noticed a bit of difference in ride quality with it. That being said, if you've followed my saga of the broken structural component in the nose of the Montana, I wanted something to two do things, 1) was to protect the nose of the rig a little more and 2) was to smooth out the ride of the truck some. Last summer we went from GA to Wisconsin Dells on a summer trip and the roads were horrible. The MorRyde did what it could, but good lord the jarring was bad. Plus, the dually has has onboard air and airbags that I was constantly adjusting. Not too big of a deal, but thought there had to be something better. So we bought a TrailAir pin box. We did NOT get the TrailAir FlexAir as we'd been warned by several that it would cause a bit of chucking especially on the interstates. There are even reviews on YouTube about it. Around here in the SE, we don't have roads like I-39 and I-57 up around Wisconsin(thank God), but we do have I-20 and I-85. The pin box has helped quite a bit on these roadways as the truck doesn't jar nearly as bad. Was it worth it, to me so far it has been. I will have a better idea in about a month when I go to Myrtle Beach from ATL up I-20. Just remember, everything you read on topics such as this are going to be subjective just like "does your truck have a harsh ride". Everyone is different, that's why they make many different models.
