Welcome to the forums. I run my hitch further than that back but it's a diesel F350 that's heavy on the front. You need to weigh your rig anyway so let them know you may not like it taking that much weight off your front axle. How big/heavy of a 5er are you pulling with a EcoBoost? We pull bumper pulls with the ball 3-4' behind the rear axle and that's OK, but 2.5" is not.:h
