My auto/home insurance was quite a bit cheaper but would only insure for the actual cash value, which would be quite a bit less than I paid for it, of course. I was not willing to assume that risk for a lesser premium. We went with Progressive with full replacement for the first five years and then agreed value after that. We also have diminishing deductible which is now zero. We hope to never use it. Like most insurance policies it is worth absolutely nothing till you need it but it does provide a little peace of mind. My only complaint is that the premium goes up every year.
