Added a roof for a carport when got our diesel motorhome in 05. After several run ins with wood rats chewing some wiring I enclosed it. It's 40 x 18 with a 12' wide x 13' tall roll up garage door. Our fifth wheel only has a couple of inches clearance when we back it in so be sure you get enough height. Besides 50 amp service we also have water close by and a sewer dump inside, or a clean out as the city inspector called it. If you can swing it that is the one thing that makes life easy. We don't have to worry about dumping before we get home.
Our door will be 14' tall x 12' wide. The building will have 20' ceiling in the center with 16' wall height. We had it plumbed to have water and sewer clean out with easy access. My hope is for the 5er to be fully usable inside the garage if needed (shouldn't be needed but nice option to have). I agree, it will be nice to be able dump at home. It was definitely on the list of must haves in the planning stage.
