Here are the facts, the F250/350 SRW has the same Sterling 10.5 full floating rear axle, and it’s rated at 9700 lb.’s from the factory (which Ford owns). Ford de-rates it because of warranty,license and tire reasons.
So what does this mean, the axle is not the weak part of the truck the tires are, do not over load the tires, look on the sidewall and don’t go over the tire rating.
As a side bar, you will find that American tire manufactures are lowering their E rated tire rating, and that’s probably why trailer manufactures are going to China tires, they haven’t change their ratings.
