Not sure if this is a 5er or TT, but it doesn't look good.

  • Downtown is the safest area in Detroit. Many thousands of families go down there regularly, not only for work but also for dining, plays, museums, casinos, shows, sporting events, concerts, parades and a whole host of other activities. For myself, I have no fear of going downtown and do so; but then again, I wouldn't be foolish about it either. I'm sure most people would similarly use their common sense about where they go and when they go no matter where it was.

The Ambassador Bridge is a nightmare on a good day. It dumps you right into downtown Detroit. The Blue Water Bridge, a little farther north in Port Huron, is a much more pleasant experience. That TT probably commited suicide rather than go through downtown Detroit. :)

A pickup truck and camper van fire on Ambassador Bridge caused hours of delays and traffic snarls along thoroughfares en route to the international crossing Tuesday afternoon.

“We just looked up and all of a sudden we saw black smoke,” said Randy Spader, manager of operations for the Canadian Transit Company.

Spader said a pickup truck hauling a trailer caught fire on the bridge while on its way to Canada just after noon. He said there was no collision and the cause was not clear. No one was injured.

The tunnel is downtown, the bridge takes you right onto I75 nowhere near downtown. Downtown is the safest area of Detroit.

I dispute that but it's irrelevant, since NOWHERE in Detroit is safe enough that I would go there.
