For those of you that have fireplaces do they really heat well?

JMO but the fireplace is a waste of cubic space. Fake fire??? Really??? Had one in first trailer. It rattled. Currently only have the heater part. The cubic space that the fireplace would occupy is a very roomy cupboard that houses things like the coffeemaker & toaster oven.
