First camp in fuzion 342 questions

Last night was the first night-- went pretty well except we forgot the pillows lol.

Today, the refrigerator/freezer (in the slide) seem to be struggling/not getting and keeping food cold enough. It's on the setting of "5" and "AC" and "auto".

Any suggestions? It's about 96 outside so maybe that is the issue?

Thanks in advance.
  • Gah, we have ants in the kitchen coming in from the slide. The TH is hot as hades since the kids have been going in and out. I've taken two showers already. Did I mention it is 96 outside? And 100% humidity? We had to get a weekend in with the new RV and I'm glad we did, but I won't be camping in the Deep South in 96 degrees again.

I found another Fuzion owner in here (ironically, we met them in January here and he let us tour his 342 and it is part of what tipped us over into getting serious) and they showed us the slider device in the refrigerator on the last metal slat on the right that you slide up and down to adjust temp (ill take a pic later if anyone is interested... I'm about to collapse in a puddle of sweat right now).

I just kicked everyone out (we are with friends) and I've got it all quiet in here and letting everything cool down. It is thundering outside right now and I am hoping it rains,

All in all, LOVE the fuzion and I'm glad we did this less than ten minutes from home,

ETA: we can't get the oven to light, but we haven't had an oven before either. Ill have to get the fuzion neighbors to explain that one.
  • Ok Thanks. Yeah, we have a yeti and I think we are going to have to put the drinks in there to keep everyone from opening the fridge too often.

I don't remember this problem in the Puma, but we also had no slides either.
  • Ours is the same way on the hot days. We are going to go back to keeping our drinks(bottled water, soda, and beer) in a cooler so we are not opening the refrigerator as much. We are in the habit of taking a cold drink out and replacing it with a room temperature one. Thats not helping the fridge stay at its coldest setting.

One morning the temp in the fridge was 42 degrees. I would like to see it in the mid to high 30's. I have also heard that having the fridge in the slide with the two vents on the side, isn't as effective as a non slide fridge that vents through the roof. The fridge in our non slide Nash would start to freeze the items in the fridge if you forgot to turn it down.
