Charles, did you not see the yellow tire loading/payload capacity sticker I referred to earlier? That weight includes everyone, and everything added to the truck, including 200# hitch and pin weight.
Also the dry pin wts are much less than the actual loaded trailer pin wt. You need to look at FW GVWR times 20% to be closer to actual.
You have a very nice truck, that can pull a lot of weight. I do not judge anyone for towing whatever they want. If you weighed your rear axle of truck, loaded to camp, with FW hitch installed (or add 200 lbs for it) you would know what is left for pin wt, before going over the 6200 RAWR, and the 6,400 lb tire limit.
The trailers you are looking at are very nice too! There are people on this forum saying you need a 3500 diesel DRW truck to tow most everything. The trailers you are looking at 16,000 GVWR are going to be over your truck rating. Can you add airbags and hook it up and go?? Yes, but remember your tires are rated for just under 6,400. It is your call. I am giving my opinion because you asked.
To answer last question, IMO, you should stay under FW GVWR 14,000, and a loaded pin wt 2,600 or less.
