After my ST tire failure I went with G-rated LT tires.
Now I am confused why you think he would be too close on tire weight. At 12,000, you would have approx. 3,200 on the tongue leaving 8,800 on the axles. The E rated tires would be more than enough for that. I have a gross of 13,600 on mine, tongue weight of 3,380 and have been running USA made Carlile E rated tires for 2 years now without any issues. I do make sure they say Made in the USA and are not the older made in china ones.
