First trip with Max Brake controller

Exactly my opinion, its like there is no trailer back there. Another note is I made a u shape out of the supplied short steel line so that the sensor was a little higher than the master cylinder. This made it more rigid, and bled what little air that was in it easy.

Are you using the max brake controller rather than the factory brake controller that came with your Ram?

Yes I did install the MaxBrake, I tried installing my Dad's out of his 12 into my 11 but it did not give the heavy and light electric or hydraulic option that he has.

If I had a 12 or newer I am sure from what my Dad says about his I would just use the factory unit.

My 11 factory controller worked better than the P2 that is in my 98 but the 11 controller is not even close to being in the same league as the MaxBrake!

Dutch and Di are members here and they sell the Max Brake, great people. Their site is plugitrite.com

Anyone that thinks their controller is great and it is the best has never used a MaxBrake!

yes it has a 'override' - in a campgroung really no need to turn it off,works on my air brakes as well.

does it still have an over ride so you can manually apply the trailer brakes?
does it have a shut off so you can say manuver in a campsite without the brakes coming on? (but I guess that would not matter)

Once you go Maxbrake you will never go back.

Had mine since '05, no issues at all. I also like that when you set it, you can go from single axle to tandem to trips and not have to reset. Very nice unit.

BTW; I installed a Banks IQ with speed brake. Adds a lot to pulling my 5ver. It uses the variable turbo much like a jake brake. I really like it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

X-whatever# on the MaxBrake comments. Agree whole heartily in regards to the economic comment, too.

Ditto to the previous posts!! The Max Brake and the Pac Brake exhaust brake that I put on my 04 Ram CDT were well worth the money.
I can't understand the reasoning behind spending 10s of thousands on a trailer
and "saving" maybe $150 on a braking system.
