First trip with Max Brake controller

I went from Memphis to Columbus Ohio, where I am at a Bluegrass Festival, and I must say that this brake controller has worked flawlessly. When you brake it is like the truck and trailer are one unit, and no delay at all. I was hesitant about connecting something into my brake hydraulics, but it was very easy, and came with the right size connectors for my master cylinder. Driving in rush hour traffic has been made a lot safer for me now, and the Max Brake controller was definitely a good investment.

  • We have had our Brake Smart, the older twin brother of Max Brake, since 2004 and totally love it.

Installation into the hydralic system was easy.

Had to stop about 5 miles out on our first trip because it felt like the RV was pushing the truck when we stopped. Two small adjustments at the controller keypad fixed it without even getting out of the truck. We've never touched it since!

And as you have said, once it is in total sync with the hydralic system, the truck and RV stop as a single unit, up hill, down hill, high speed, low speed, at stop lights, everywhere!
  • Glad you like it. Ive never heard a bad word about the MaxBrake. Seems the best option for those who arent buying a new truck with the integrated controllers. Hope they stick around for many years.
  • That is exactly what everyone finds out after installing the Max Brake. No more screwing around with boost setting. No more jerky stops in a city when old controller was set for highway.

Gone are the boost setting Band-Aids! Gone are the concerns of being in a large city with stop and go traffic conditions.

Just one unit that brakes with complete control via the TV brake pedal.
