First Trip

Hi All,

We'll be taking our first trip next month and it will be a long one. Three days travel time to our destination. The question is: should we travel with water tanks full or empty? Full means less setup/take down time and possibly less chucking. Empty means less weight.

    We travel with just enough for a few toilet flushes, hand washes, etc. About 5 gallons.

    The one time last summer that I didn't have any water in the trailer, we blew a bearing in norther Arizona. We were lucky, but it could have got ugly.

    Most will say to travel empty because of the weight but I prefer to have 1/4 to 1/2 tank so I can use the trailer facilities at anytime during the travels. Randu
