Flagstaff 524RLBS

Hi,

The only fifth wheel in our area so far that might work for us is the Flagstaff model # 524RLBS...weight and length appropriate. Does anyone own this brand that can give us pros and cons on possible purchase? There are other brands we would like to look at that have been recommended on this site, but not available in our area unfortunately. We want to make a wise choice (as we all do), with what we can find in our area and comfortably afford. Thanks for any help on this particular brand of fifth wheel.
  • Hi.. We owned a 2003 flagstaff 5th wheel for 10 years. We liked the unit and served us well. After about 4 years of use we had to replace the tv. at 8 years the dump valve broke and was replaced. Also replaced the battery after 5years. Tires were replaced after 5 years of use...I would recommend a flagstaff 5th wheel. Jim2007......
  • We too liked the Flagstaff very much but had the opposite problem from yours. We couldn't find a Flagstaff dealer that was close enough to buy one. We ended up getting a Salem Hemisphere GLX 286RL. Both Flagstaff and Salem Hemisphere are made by Forest River and have identical floor plans. If you have any dealers local to you, you might want to check those models as well. Both are priced similarly and are close in weight as well. The only real difference that I can see are the different Bells and Whistles that might be in them.
  • Hey there, are you looking at a new one ? I have a 8524 RLS bought new in 2013 and other than some minor issues the first season it has been a good unit. Not a high end unit but good value for the dollar I would say.
  • Only 43 gallons of fresh water for an RV of that size is somewhat unusual and limits how long you can dry/boondock but otherwise seems ok.
