- GrumpyandGrandmExplorerDidn't do any Rallies, but spent many nights at their CG in Cincinnati. We were always welcomed even though the only towable there. Everybody was very friendly.

FMCA always allowed members who switched from a MH to a towable to remain associate members with all the benefits, so it's not totally new. The difference is you can now join as a new member with a towable. We kept our membership after we went back to a FW, no issues.
So, as an "Associate", did you take your FW to an FMCA/rally or event.:@
If so, please elaborate - as that (was) "Mission Impossible".:W

did not vote,
got no right to complain.
just look at all the towables out there at what $$ each. even if only 10% join up thats a whole lot of new cash in there pockets.
and i bet in there news letters thay say to vote a given way on new laws.
and when at a lunchen with a law maker they get to bost anout the reg numbers they have. aka tax payers. - eb145Explorer III attended the FMCA Southeast Area Rally in Lakeland, FL last week with my 5th wheel. DW and I felt very welcome.
The parking guys at the rally said I was the first 5th wheel they ever led to a parking spot. The first place they led me to did not work. One of my slides couldn't open all the way. We had a good laugh when they realized that 5th wheels can have real deep slides. Five minutes later they had me settled into a better spot.
My neighbor was a truck driver who couldn't stop smiling the whole time. This was his first trip in a 20 year old garage kept Class A. American Eagle brand with chrome bumpers. He got it at an amazing price very recently and it looked great. It wax his first RV and he was getting advice and compliments from other Diesel pusher owners.
Anyway, it was nice being there. If there were any haters there they stayed hidden behind their keyboards.

.:W - ol_Bombero-JCExplorerFMC were NEVER snobs to other Class A MH owners.
When towables (or anything with a hood, like a Class C) were not permitted - how would anyone know if their elitist attitude applied to those "other" RVers?
The welcome mat is out now for *REVENUE*! not 'cause they like you.
:S - WalabyExplorer III think that someone is snobbish regardless if they join a club or not. I will agree that when snobbish behavior is observed and individual is associated with a larger organization/club, then the club reputation suffers.
For example, I was staying at a nice RV resort in North GA mountains. It was a free stay for me, for purchase of my new TT. My weekend stay happened to coincide with a FMCA rally. One of the FMCA members was walking her dog and let her dog take a **** in my friends camping spot. She didn't bother to pick it up. I would have said something, but didn't observe it first hand... friends did (they were inside). When confronted shortly thereafter, the lady claimed it wasn't her. Boorish behavior for sure. Suspect she was that way before she joined FMCA, but the symbolism of the gesture was not lost on us.

What benefit would there be?
None
Well, you do get one of those little medallions and also to send them money periodically . . .
Don't forget you can also pi$$ off all the snobs who swore they'd not renew their membership if they let the trailer trash join and ruin their mh only image! Now where the heck is my a Grey Poupon???
You wouldn't ruin their image because trailer trash aren't allowed in the "motorhome only" parks and most can't pay the $100+ a day fees anyway. :B - larry_barnhartExplorerFrom several MH folks we know all started out rving with a truck camper or a TT and understand the FMCA membership is fading.
