All the big 3 have had there issues. The 6.0 is probably one of the worse ones for sure. But when they are taken care of and running right it is a beast for sure. I have an 05 and only have 93xxx miles on it. Just recently started having what's known as injector stiction issues. Swapped oil from rotella dino 15w-40 to full synthetic 5w-40 and added archoil 9100 (do a search for more info) additive in the oil and WOW! what a difference so far. All engines are of course dependant on good clean oil. But in the 6.0 the oil is the lifeblood. The engine shears the oil like no other and excessive oil change intervals, poor quality oils, etc causes tons of issues. I've only been running this combination for appr 500mi so far so I can't swear by it yet. But the cold starts, quietness of the engine (injectors and valves) have been improved tremendously. Also I've noticed an improvement in mpg also. I am bone stock with the exception of blue spring kit and turbo back 4in exhaust and was getting around 13 to 13.5 avg mpg over the last year or so. I'm at 15.5 now. And this is not from the trucks computer mpg display (its showing 15.8 which is very close), this is hand calculated miles to gallons at fill up. So obviously something is working. Best of luck!
