Cardinal 3850 Rl
Yes,,, I was going to stop at Safford RV and look at a 2014 leftover 3850RL.. Fully loaded... Dual pane windows.. 2 ac's... 2 awnings... Full body paint... King bed... Rear receiver hitch... Generator prep... And more for $54,995.00... But I ran out of time , and I won't buy anything site unseen .. Not to mention my DW is not a Cardinal fan soooooo...... You know the story ;)
And yes... chris ... A rear cap!! :B- MystsoftymeExplorerCardinal 3850 Rl
- Me_AgainExplorer IIIFord Truck Guy, I am with you, I just can not get past a lack of a rear cap on a trailer that is suppose to be mid to upper level!!! Chris

That's the other side of our coin... I still have folks toss compliments almost every trip.. And a lot asking if its brand new (if I had time to wax before)
My maiden voyage for 2015 was last week... I had a guy walking his dog stop and ask me if it was a 2015... - MPI_MallardExplorer

Thor is screwing with KZ changing names etc. My dealer was told if he wanted the Durango Gold there was now minimum stocking requirements. And Jayco is changing things at Open Range as well. Personally if Thor does not change the factory operation I would easily stay with KZ over any Forest River. Friends have had nightmare experiences trying to get warranty work on their FR products.
Every time I see a post claiming a "friend" had trouble with Forest River/Cedar Creek's customer service I wonder if there talking about the same company, I personally have had several dealings with CC's customer service and have had above excellent service, the clear coat on mine was flaking off and they re-finished the whole fiver free of charge and on our time-table, on a six year-old fiver! As far as a "friend" goes one of mine bought a new Cedar Creek fiver last summer as he liked ours and the few minor gremlin's he had were taken care of immediately and that's just one creeker that I know of! As my 07' CC Daydreamer was built to such a high standard I really can't see replacing her in the near future, we get compliments on her all the time from people walking by, on the way down last fall a bunch of biker's passed us on I-75 and was giving us the thumbs up, but when I have to do it will be another Cedar Creek!

My issue is that DW and I both fell in love with the Solitude 3875RE layout... We have only seen it in 1 or 2 other models... Big Country started making one for 2016.. And I spoke to the Jayco rep who told me they were making that for their NEW lineup and it should hit this summer...
We want to see the layout in person before deciding ,I cannot decide over some fancy pictures...Like I stated before.. The Solitude is out -no rear cap...no carpeting in main living area , and the bathroom sink felt like it was plastic.. I was in a few big Country products last week and was not WOW'd either..
The good thing is that we are NOT in any rush , and are more than happy waiting to be hit with the WOW factor . .
BTW - The Gold was nice , but not what we want.. the FL model you have to open the street side door to gain access to the bathroom while traveling.. OR bypass the hydraulics and open one of the curb side slides...
We saw a 2014 Redwood left over FL.. that did WOW us... BUT with 2 kids that still travel . its not practical.. the 2 sofa's up front are NOT beds... the kitchen table would be hard to have 3 sit at it let alone 4.. The only reason we still looked at it was because the cost...$65,000.00 and it was loaded..- spadoctorExplorerThor is screwing with KZ changing names etc. My dealer was told if he wanted the Durango Gold there was now minimum stocking requirements. I like the fact that the cedar creek has hung walls rather than vacuum bonded walls like cardinals. Other than that, they both seem to be very nice with similar options. I like the full body paint better on the cardinal.
The hung walls and sixteen inch centers used in construction make the Cedar Creek the best of the Forest River line in my opinion.
Someone mentioned the Columbus which isn't even in the same ballpark as Cedar Creek and Cardinal. spadoctor wrote:
Fordtruckguy....did you decide against a Stoneridge?
I did ...Was not hit with the WOW factor when I walked in... I am back to square 1... KZ is dropping the Stoneridge line and adding one possibly called the Prestige , or something close... Jayco is coming out with a floor plan that we fell in live with at the show in a Solitude.. But the Solitude is a NO for several reasons... I may be waiting for Hershey , All the new floor plans should be there in September...
