fresh tank freezing

On a night that will go down to 24 degrees for part of the night do you think the fresh tank will freeze and rupture? It is not in any kind of heated area.

Thanks.
  • Drain some water out of the full tank so if water starts to freeze it has a place to expand. Otherwise shouldn't be a problem.
  • If the tank is inside or at least closed in the belly and out of the wind it would take days of constant below freezing temps for it to freeze.
  • I think you're fine. We did several days and nights just like that in Vancouver, WA in late November. When we woke up about the forth morning and the weather man said it would be down to 10F that night, we headed south.

  • Hi,

How warm was it the day before?

The less water there is in the tank, the more susceptible it is to freezing.
  • It has been a Lot colder than that here. My Tank has not frozen.
