Fresh water tank collapse-week supports.

While filling up the fresh water tank, I heard a "snap". It was dark, and I did not look for anything. Next morning, I saw a large bulge under the rv where the water tank is and the bottom cover was separated from the frame. A LONG story short, the two 0.100 thick support bars that went diagonally across the bottom of the tank (supposedly to support the tank when full) had both broken from the one screws that held it in place at each end. The weight of the unsupported water, pulled the outside of the tank in and it went down about 3-4 inches and was caught between the angle iron supporting the tank. Was able to drain the water and remove one support piece and put the tank back in. Added 4 support pieces across the tank filled tank up and now there is a leak in one of the bottom corners. Have mostly used full hook-up sites. Maybe 3 times added water at the site. Waiting answers from Prime Time and from the "camper sales". ANY SUGGESTIONS? TO ME, BAD DESIGN FOR TANK SUPPORT. THANKS!
  • I continue to be amazed at the shotty workmanship and design of RV's This is a structural problem that should not have happened.
