Same here. We have a 2008 Jayco Designer with a Dometic refer in a slide. No fans, and never had a problem over many years of camping, including those days when the temps were in the 90's or higher. Not disputing that some have this problem, but I can tell you that not everyone experiences it.
That's interesting. What refer do you have in your Jayco? The one that seems to be a problem is the Dometic RM 1350. I had posted on the Forest River Forum several months ago...that was the info I mentioned that I had forgotten about...and the comments there mention specifically the RM 1350. I'm not sure how long Dometic has been making this unit but there may be unintended consequences with a new design.
Well, I just checked and found that I had misspoken. Turns out that the refer I have is a Norcold model N821F, and not a Dometic after all. My apologies. It was our prior 5'r that had a Dometic, but not in a slide.
