Front Cargo Door Strut
I wish I could say I came up with this idea but I didn't. I was on the Wildcat owners Forum and someone mentioned a post they found on the Cedar Creek RV owners Forum about installing gas struts on the front cargo door of a 5th wheel.

The guy in the article installed two struts. I started to do this and it way way too much effort to close my smaller door. I ended up with one strut and it works perfect. I can't tell you how many times I was bent over trying to find something, lift up slightly and that birds beak clip came undone and rested on my back. I ordered the struts off Ebay and did not notice they did not come with the ball mount. So I then ordered the ball mounts.
I bought the tie plate from home depot sanded and painted it white.
I used 3/16 inch rivets with washers. I turned the plate upside down and flattened the back of the rivet so it sit closer to flush.
Here is another view.
On the bottom I peeled back the insulation and used two shallow head bolts.
