Wow!
Followed this thread, and it went from a slightly buckled filon front cap to major frame damage!!
The buckle likely caused by weak wood cross member behind it, caused by water intrusion.
I believe the OP is on the correct tract and likely can effect a good repair from the inside with extra framing and support.
He also needs to identify any point of water intrusion and get it sealed correctly.
