Front nose design and stability and gas mileage?

I am seeing that the newer nose design is rounded whereas the older ones are big and flat.

Has anyone hauled both types with the same TV and seen a difference in stability or gas mileage?

  • To each their own, but I can not stand the look of flat rear trailers! It looks like they got that far on the build and gave up!

  • i have a square nose and like the interior height and storage.the round nose if you arw tall you cannot walk all the way to front without ducking .
  • It seems to me that unless one spends more time on the road than in a campground the mileage savings would be insignificant. I'd be more interested in the layout of the camper where one spends more time than in the tow vehicle.
  • Yes, I went from a square cornered flat rear 26 foot 5th wheel to a 29 foot one that weighed 3K more and has both front and rear caps and mileage was better. Most on the difference is with the front, however the rear cap will help also if it takes away the square corners. Chris
